Intro
To Wilderness Travel
Sign up for a weekend or week-long excursion
that will give you a small taste of wilderness
adventure! Our canoeing, hiking and bike trips
are more laid back than our Advanced Expeditions.
Intro To Wilderness Travel provides a relaxed,
wilderness environment to learn new skills at
your own pace.
Advanced Expeditions
If you're looking for a physical challenge,
or you just want to have a great time, our multi-day
wilderness expeditions can be arranged to suit
your goals. There are a number of canoe and
hiking routes waiting to be explored by anyone
with a desire to see what's around the next
corner. These trips will be somewhat demanding,
but the sense of accomplishment felt at the
end of it all will make it well worth the effort.

Therapeutic Trips for “At
Risk Youth”
This initiative is a unique program which has
been expressly designed by Craigwood
Youth Services for “At Risk”
adolescents. The wilderness environment is utilized
to address the risk needs of these young people
through rigorous physical, social, and psychological
challenges. This intensive program initiates,
accelerates, and solidifies the process of positive
change in a manner that traditional programming
cannot replicate. A safe, outdoor experience
is combined with group and individual learning.
This environment promotes many skills that can
be transferable to everyday life:
- Setting attainable and realistic goals
- Conflict resolution
- Calculated risk-taking
- Responsibility and accountability
- Teamwork
- Self-confidence
- Leadership
- Promoting healthy lifestyles
- Self-awareness

"...
I've been on many canoeing expeditions and this one
topped them all by far. Though I have earned my [Flatwater
Level] "C" ORCA badge, the counsellors did
an amazing job and managed to make it a learning experience
for all."
